Marianne Caminiti has had extensive training using the latest products and techniques in "Decorative Arts" and continues to expand her knowledge and skill.

She has taken many Interior design classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.) in NYC and has trained at several authorized training centers for Faux Effects International, Inc., the leader in decorative art mediums and materials manufacturing.

"'Faux' Finishing may be a thing of the past. In the modern world, single-layered applications in garish colors are no longer as popular as they once were. Today, true professional decorative artisans are using multiple layers, unique (sometimes only available for purchase with a license) products and real-life materials.

Faux finishers used to create marble out of paints and glazes. Now they can create marble with, get this, real marble. Plasters are becoming ever more popular, and we're not talking about joint compound being used to mimic plaster. Now finishers are using real plasters, whether clay-based, marble-based or lime-based, they're all real earth plasters. Even the new concrete veneer products are created with real bits of concrete and stone. This gives the final result a much more realistic look and feel, as well as more value to the home and client.

You may still hear of "faux" finishers, but they are quickly fading, being replaced by "decorative artisans" who practice a unique craft and create one of a kind, truly beautiful decorative finishes for walls, cabinets, furniture and even floors and ceilings."
